Resolutions !!!….B.U.G.S.

God has blessed each of us to enter into another year, 2019. Each year that we see brings with it the New Year vows, resolutions, new beginnings, and greater goals. All of this seems good and maybe even necessary so that it reminds us of how much we desire to achieve more out of life.

It is typical to make a promise or as we say resolution when the year begins. Yet in many cases, the promise or resolution made for ourselves soon becomes a broken promise. There is a failure to really commit to that promise. It soon becomes vain words and goals that are out of reach due to the obstacle we face called life.

Although we have good intentions and want to set higher goals for ourselves, we should think about the things that really matter to our spiritual journey.

There are some of us that desire an even closer walk with God and make promises and vows each year to set forth in that respect. Yet many times the journey has bumps and falls that hinder our walk. So we try to make it up by taking on even more promises that again we cannot keep. The point is that we must embrace the failures in our life as stepping stones just as we embrace the victories.

Setting goals is a good thing. Achieving thoses goals is even better. But the true believer should set goals that make sense to their spiritual growth.

James 1:5 states…” If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

We should be careful and prayerful in all goals that we make. Our resolutions or promises are vain if we can’t keep them. Set your goals on the Spiritual man and his journey. All other life goals will be accomplished even through the good and the bad in life.

Philippians 4:13 states…“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.“

We must stay in God to enjoy the promises He gave us.

John 15:3 states, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Satan will always find a way to try and destroy your ability to reach greater goals. But remember that’s his job. Don’t be under his grip (B.U.G.S) for 2019. Treat it as an unwanted BUG. Kill it before it does any damage.

Make 2019 a greater year with Christ !!!!

Thank you for listening…

About Me

This blog was the beginning of social media posts created for the sole purpose of encouraging other believers in Christ. It really started out in mediation of how God compares us as believers to sheep in the Bible. I was so amazed by the comparison that I continued to research it for my own benefit. It was during that process that I learned about the damage a bug can do to a sheep if it ever gets into his head. This sparked a platform for all the things I, an avid believer in Christ, needed to share with others or rather anyone that would listen.
